I don't really have the details of their love story. I just know they were classmates in high school but romance blooomed when they were in college. I remember one night when I was in 1st year college (I think?) when kuya told me he already has a girlfriend, then introduced her to me. I did'nt know what to say, I just said Hi.
Ate Romerlyn, (honestly I'm still shy of calling her Ate but now I really have to practice) is as far as I am concerned Kuya's first girlfriend (any violent reaction?). Without realizing it, she became part of our family's life. From always being there for birthdays, fiesta, Christmas, christenings, etc. to attending simple family dinners. My brothers revelation years ago about him having a girlfriend was so sudden I was not given a chance to hate or love or approve or object. I just accepted it as I would when we'd have a new neighbor. I get shy with talking to her so we end-up not talking with each other but we became textmates. I'd be shy calling her ate or as her name so I end-up just saying "Hi" as a greeting. With her constant presence, I became comfortable with her (my shyness was reduced to 97%). Until the time came, when I'd choose her side over my brother. I am actually happy that kuya is going to marry her, not any other girl (this time I'll object) heheheeh. For what it's worth, thank you Ate for the patience and love you gave to Kuya. He is lovable but he ain't easy to love.
Sure they had their ups and downs but they manged to keep it together and survived 8 years with each other. And after the roller-coaster ride, finally they are one their way to the finish line which takes place on February 15, 2012 at Basilica Church. Congratulations to the both of you!
But before that, last August 6 was the formal pamamanhikan attended by the family. Where both of them discussed their wedding plans to the family from both sides. It was a fun occassion, we laughed a lot, talked a lot and ate a lot. See below for the sumptuous dishes served.

Excited for the Pink theme wedding!
PS: I was touched when they made me the Maid-of-Honor. Was actually expecting to be one of the bridesmaids. Well at least I have enough time to lose all the fats for the big day! I am so excited I already booked a flight for the wedding! Hoping my 5 day Vacation Leave will be approved. :)
